Marine applications

The highly corrosive environment in marine applications requires great consideration. Latronics® Inverters are best
suited due to their robust construction using powder coated aluminium casings and various stainless steel fittings.
The circuit boards are all positioned vertically to minimise the effects of moisture residue. Additional conformal-coating
of the circuit boards to Mil Spec MIL-I-46058C further reduces the effects of salt spray on electronic components.

Safety
Latronics Inverters do not have any connection between AC and DC. The 240v AC is NOT connected to any DC
component in the inverter. Hence we can claim isolation between DC input and AC output of 3500V via our toroidal transformer. Most other manufacturers feed the 240V AC output back onto a circuit board and the AC-DC isolation is achieved by a couple of resistors or other low voltage electronic components.

Transfer Switch
When fitted with this option the AC output is switched between mains AC and Inverter AC. An auxiliary AC source can be connected to the mains input junction box on the rear of the inverter. While this AC source is present, it will be connected to the AC output junction box on the rear and the power outlet on the front. Should the auxiliary AC source fail, the changeover switch automatically diverts the Inverter's AC source to the AC output junction box on the rear and power outlet on the front.
