Latronics®
Inverters are designed for easy adaptability
to meet specific customer needs. All Inverters are manufactured
at the
company’s headquarters to a stringent quality system aligned to and
comparable with ISO 9001. Delivery times
for specialised units are nominally two weeks from
receipt of order.
With
experience spanning two decades, coupled with one of the lowest failure
rates in the industry < 0.5%, Latronics®
can offer
technical expertise and options not readily available from other
manufacturers.
In harsh
environments such as that associated with the mining industry and
railways (Latronics® Inverters have been operating on
trains since 1993), the design features and characteristics of Latronics®
Inverters provide the most beneficial solutions to the varied
requirements of industrial applications.
Transport
Latronics® Inverters are fitted to hundreds of service
vehicles for small and large corporations throughout Australia and
overseas. A number of options are available for vehicular applications,
including; Mounting Brackets, Vibration proofing (ruggedisation),
Conformal Coating and other Customer specific modifications.
Some vehicles have the battery positive connected to the chassis
(earth). Latronics® Inverters can be used in such
vehicles due to their inherent (3,500 Volt) DC to AC isolation.
RCD on vehicle
Latronics® inverters can be fitted with an earth leakage
device or RCD, however in order for these devices to operate the earth
and neutral must be bonded at the input of the RCD. In domestic wiring
this scenario does not present any problems due to the large earth
plane that can be created. However, in vehicles the inverter case which
is connected to AC earth, would need to be connected with the vehicle
chassis to provide an earth plane. This connection results in AC earth,
neutral and battery negative being bonded together, which results in
the loss of the isolation between AC and DC.
Note: When using an RCD an earth plane must be created for a fault path
back to earth in order for the device to trip.
PowerStation
High Voltage isolation is a frequent requirement for Inverters used in
this environment. Latronics® offers 2000V AC Isolation
between any DC input to case and AC output to case. In addition, all
Latronics® Inverters have 3500V isolation between DC
input and AC output.
In some instances the Inverter is required to operate in high ambient
temperatures. To meet this specification, Latronics®
provides a special option that allows the operating temperature to
exceed the 55deg specification (as required by AS3001), without harming
the Inverter.
Telecommunications
Latronics® has manufactured and supplied specialised
Inverters for the Telecommunications Industry where low DC ripple is
required. This is defined as psophonometric noise compliant to the
standard ETS 3000132-2. Currently the 1600VA 48VDC model is available
to meet this specification. Other options available include; 19” rack
mounting, DC junction box instead of battery leads, changeover and
alarm relays, modified DC input window and autoreset.
Mines
Inverters used in the mining industry have to meet special safety and
operational requirements. Such things as; High DC to AC isolation,
fitment of RCD type AC outlets, Vibration proofing (ruggedisation),
Conformal Coating and other Customer specific modifications are options
which can be easily incorporated into Latronics®
Inverters.
